| Notes/Description | : | A small treatise on Metrics written in Prakrt.It contains six chapters, and was composed by Virahanka, who is represented as narrating the same to his wife. The MS. was copied for Dr.Bhau Daji from an old palm-leaf MS., dated Samvat 1192, in the big Bhandar at Jesalmir.For this latter, see Dalal, Cat. of Jesalmir MSS.,(Gaekwad’s Oriental Series, vol XXI.) No. 238 (3). The work was known by the name Chandoviciti to its commentator Gopala; see next number. This is perhaps the work mentioned by Dandin in his Kavyadars’a. |
