These are four MSS. of Dharmadasagani’s Upades’amala The first is incomplete and the last contains a Gujarati Balavabodha written above and below the text. The third is dated Sam. 1521.Upades’amala is a collection of 540 Prakrit Gathas containing moral advice, composed by Dharmadasagani. For a legend according to which Dharmadasa was originally a king and had composed this work to impart advice to his son, Ranasinha, see peterson, Reports, V. p. 164,The earliest commentary on this work was written by Siddharsi, author of the Upamitibhavaprapanca in Sam. 962. It is published with Ramavijayagani’s commentary by Hiralal Hansaraj, Jamnagar, 1919, and also with Siddharsi’s commentary by the same Pandit. |
