A short treatise on the Erotic sentiment, by Rudrata. The work consists of three chapters, containing 166, 114 and 81 s’lokas respectively and was otherwise called Kevyalankara as is seen from the colophon. The real Envyalankara of Rudrata however, consists of 16 adhyayas and reviews the whole field of Poetics. Scholars are divided in their opinions as regards the identity of the authors of these two works. For a learned summary of the discussion on this point, refer to Kane, Introduction to Sahityadarpana ( 2nd ed. ), pp. LII to LVIII.
