A treatise on the medical use of iron and its several preparations, by Sures’vara, son of Bhadres'vara,grandson of Yas’odhana, and greatgrandson of Devagana. Sures’vara was a courtphysician to king Bhimapala of Padi, his father having acted in a similar capacity to King Ramapala of Bengal. See I. O., No. 2739 for another work called S'abdapradipa of S’ures'vara.He was also the author of Vrksayurveda, which was probably the work known to S'arngadharapaddhati,A. D. 1363; cf. Bod.Cata., No. 768.King Ramapala of Bengal ascended the throne in 1080 A. D.; cf. Duff, Chronology, p. 131. Sures’vara quotes Sus’ruta, Harita, Vyadi anf Nagarjuna.The work is otherwise called Lohasarvasva. |
