A commentary called Vasanabhasya or Narmadatika on Karanakutuhala, by Padmanabha,son of Narmada. See I. 0., No. 2928; Ulwar,Extract, No. 532; Bhandarkar, Report, 1882-83,No. 297. The author must have lived before Samvat 1715, which is the date of a MS. of his other work Yantrakiranavali, also called Yantraratnavali quoted here. See No. 245 below. Narmada was obtained by his parents through the favour of the sacred river Narmada.Mr. Diksit, p. 256, fixes the date of Padmanabha at about A. D. 1398, since his son
Damodara wrote his Bhatatulya about A. D. 1417.The author also quotes, besides the Siddhanta works, Karanaprakas’a (fol. 15b; 24b ), Svana-yantrakiranavali, a part of his own Yantrakiranavali(fol. 12), and Babba (fol. 26b). |
