Kes’avi S’iksa consists of nine paribhasa sutras with their explanation in prose as well as in verse, the latter amounting to six karikas, It gives the phonetic rules in connection with the Madhyandiniya S'akha of the White Yajurveda,and was composed by Kes'ava Daivavit, who perhaps, is to be identified with the great astrologer of that name, the author of Jatakapaddhati, and a resident of Nandigrama and father of Ganes’a (Grahalaghava, 1520 A. D.) cf. Ind. Anti., vol. V. p. 193. A MS. mentioned there ascribes the paribhasa sutras to Katyayana. |
