Prakriyakaumudi of Ramacandra, son of Krsnacarya, consists of the Sutras of Panini systematically arranged and explained by a brief commentary. It is a sort of commentary on Panini’s grammar, the like of which is the Siddhanta-kaumudi of Bhattoji Diksit. The probable date of Ramacandra is 1450 A. D. acc. to Dr. Bhandarkar, (Reports, 1883—84, pp. 58—60.), but according to Satis’acandra Vidyabhusana (J. A. S. B., 1908, p. 593 ff. ), Ramacandra’s son Nrsinha had already prepared a copy of the work i. e. Prakriyakaumudi, in 1423 A. D. Another work of Ramacandra is Kalanirnayadipika... For a quotation containing the geneology of the author’s family, from the commentary called ‘Prasada’ on Prakriyakaumudi by the author’s grandson Vitthala, see Bhandarkar, Reports, 1883-84, pp. 362 to 365. The present MS. contains only the subanta section. It was scribed by Gunavijaya, pupil of Kuwaravijayagani,at Rajanagar. For other MSS., cf. I. O., Nos. 613—625; Bod. Cata., Nos. 355, 824-25; and 1120. See also, Belwalkar, Systems, p. 45. |
