Notes/Description : Brhajjataka of Varahamihira with a commentary by Mahidhara. The commentary was composed in S'ake 1520, as would appear from the last verse of this MS. This is further home out by the Ulwar MS., which must have got this verse,since Peterson remarks ‘He wrote his commentary in S’ake 1520’; see Ulwar Cata., p. 80,No. 1873. If this is true, our Mahidhara, also called Mahidasa (see the last word in our MS.,which is incomplete, but can not be ‘Mahidhara'on account of metre; see also, Bhandarkar,Report, 1882-83, No. 342), may be identified with the famous commentator of the Vajasaneyasanhita and the author of Mantramahodadhi in A. D. 1589.
