Paribhasavrtti, a commentary on the Paribhasas or general rules of interpretation and application, as handed down in connection with Panini's grammar, by Purusottamadeo, who was both a grammarian and lexicographer . Bhasavrtti (I.O., No. 604) and Haravali (I. O., No. 1020.) are works by the same author; in the latter he states that Janamejaya and Dhrtisinha were his contemporaries. For a complete list of the author's works, see Cat. Cata., vol. I. p. 342. Ujjwaladatta in his Unadivrtti (about 1250 A.D.) quotes Purusottamadeo; cf. Belwalkar, Systems, p.54. |
