Ramottaratapaniya Upanisad with a commentary called Bhaktikalpalata composed by Ramakrsna, son of Madhava of the Paras'ara gotra.Ramakrsna composed his commentary called Yuktisnehaprapurani on the S’astradipika, in Samvat 1600, at Benaras ( published by the N. S.Press, Bombay). Pratapamartanda treating of ‘the approximate seasons for the worship of Visnu' and Tirtharatnakara, a compendium of the holy places in India, are other works by Ramakrsna. The former was composed under the patronage of Prataparudra, a prince of the Gajapati family; cf. Hall, Index, p. 174; for a quotation from the latter, cf. Peterson, Reports,1. p. 101.In some places, our author after explaining a passage in his own way, quotes the explanations of the same by earlier commentators, without
criticising them, leaving the reader to judge about their relative value. See the concluding verses. |
