About 150 years old.Mulyadhyaya of Katyayana, which is a part of one of his Paris’istas (see Peterson, Reports,III. p. 384), consists of five and a half Anustubh s’lokas, treating of the prices which are to be paid to the Brahmins in the place of the various sacrificial gifts. The commentary is by Vitthala, son of Balakrsna, surnamed Vaisnava and a resident of S’ripura. He is a recent writer ; he quotes Nilakantha ( au. of Mayukhas) and his son S’ankarabhatta. He refers to his father’s work called Aikahikacaturmasyapaddhati.
Another commentary on the Mulyadhyaya is by Gopala ; cf. Peterson, Reports, III. p. 384 and Mitra, Notices, V. p. 114.The following is the full text of the Mulyadhyaya,(see Aufrecht. Leipzig Catalogue,No. 76 ):— |
