Notes/Description : The MS. is about 100 years old.Vyavaharamayukha, a part of the Bhagavantabhaskara of Nilakantha. Translated into English with introductiOn by Mandlik; also by J. R. Gharpure, Bombay. Edited with notes and introduction in the Government Hindu Series by P. V. Kane, Bombay, 1926. Most of the Mayukhas are also published by the Gujrati Printing Press, Bombay and by J.R. Gharpure, Angre’s Vadi, Bombay.Vyavaharatattva is another work on Vyavahara by Nilakantha. This is published in the Appendix by Prof. Kane in his edition. Prof. Kane’s MSS.of Vyavaharatattva, however, were defective at the beginning and hence he could not print the first few lines of the work. I possess a fine copy of this work in the Bhadakamakara Memorial Collection of MSS. (see above under No. 572). From this, I give below the portion of the work which was not available to Prof. Kane. The words 'निष्टङि्कतं चैतन्मया स्वत्ववादे' found at the beginning of the Dayabhaga section in Vyavaharatattva surely refer to the author's discussion on ‘Svatva’ in Vyavaharamayukha. This shows that Vyavaharatattva was written after Vyavaharamayukha perhaps as an abridged form of it. The former however, cannot be said to be a supplement to the latter, as no new opinions are given in it. See Kane, Vyavaharamayukha, Introduction, pp. 21. 22.
