Tarkikaraksa is a manual of Nyayas'astra, consisting of 160 karikas only, by Varadaraja, who according to the last verse was well-versed both in Nyaya and Mimansa. Tarkikaraksa is quoted in Sarvadars’anasangraha of Madhavacarya, and hence he must have been older than the 14th century; cf. Burnell, Tanjore MSS., p. 119b;Bhandarkar, Reports, 1883-84, p. 81 and V. Cha-kravarti, J. A. S. B. for 1910, p. 297. Also see S. Vidyabhusana, History of Indian Logic, pp.373-380 for the contents of the work. Edited by Vindhyes'vari Prasada, Benares, in Pandit ( N. S. ), vols. 21-25. |
